As a result of your many generous responses to our end-of-year fundraising
appeal, we have made significant progress toward our funding goal of $15,000
(the amount we need to purchase another 1.5 million of oyster spat for
planting this summer). This spat would be in addition to the 450,000
year-old oysters that waterfront residents and businesses are raising at
their docks and which we will plant on our reefs in July and August.

We are poised for continued significant progress toward restoring oyster
reefs in the creeks along the southern Patuxent River and are excited that
we can accelerate this progress with the purchase of another large batch of
spat on shell. Your financial contributions and the many hours of volunteer
time that you have committed to our operations are what has made us as
successful as we are.
